Annies Acrylic Art by Anna Norén
Anna Norén is the artist behind Annies Acrylic Art. I paint abstract and semi abstract artwork with an intuitive process. My paintings are recognized by the many layers of color and materials.
To work intuitive gives me the opportunity to paint exactly what I want every time, without musts and "need to". It gives me the freedom to trust my gut and let my subconscious arise in every stroke, color choice and technique. With this approach I create paintings that are full of expressions and feelings in an abstract context.
I have expressed myself creativly all my life. I see myself as a self taught artist but have been to courses in acrylic, mixed media and digital art. During the last 3 years I have had 8 exhibitions and right now I work as a part time artist at the same time that I'm on parental leave with my first child.
My creation process
I create stories with colors and shapes. The stories take shape as the color is put to the canvas. It is an intutive process where my feelings and soul get a large space in the process.
A painting can take more than a year to create and change expression more than ten times before it finds it right story. I paint layer on layer on layer and varies the techniques and materials. Every painting starts with a layer of intuative writing. I write directly from my heart the the lyrics are often very intimite. The text is then sealed with color and other materials, but will always remain as a hidden letter in the bottom of the painting.
The majority of my paintings are created in mixed media. It means that I use several techniques and materials in the artwork. Acrylic color is always my base, but I often complement with inc, oil, glue, paper and spackle in my artwork. To mix materials gives me an ever freer way of creating my stories on the canvas.
To the left you see the creation process of one of my bigger artworks, Hidden Gems. The painting transforms several times before it finds its true shape and story.
Just as I see my story in the painting my semi abstract artwork leaves room for the viewer to see their story in it. Maybe it is similar to mine, maybe you see something else?
My artwork is inspired by all the small things that moves me. It can be a strong memory, something that happend in our society or my love to something or someone. What all my inspiration has in common is that it is anchored in my feelings; A flower that is beautiful a hot summer day, anchored in happiness. Anger or sadness over news from our world. Holding my newborn daughter and feel the limitless love you can only feel to your child.
Since my artwork is anchored in my emotions the pieces look very different. That is exactly what makes my art unique and speciell. Every painting has its own story and it is unique.
I love collaborations! I have done projects with both local businesses and larger organisations. Do you have an idea about cooporation? Get in touch!
Right now I collaborate with Inzpero where a selection of my artwork is sold as posters in different sizes. I am also presented in the online gallery Konst.se and have several collaborations with restaurants for exhibitions of art and art events.

Anna eller Annie?
My paintings are signed with Annie which is a dear nickname since I was a small baby. When I started to paint the first artwork was signed with Annie. The nickname signed itself, even if it was a long time since I was called Annie. There and then it felt ment to be that Annie was the name I was going to use for my art.
Briefly after the idea around Annies Acrylic Art was born and ever since it has been Annie. Even if Anna is my spoken name it is Annie that lives in my heart, just as the art does. Are you unsure what to call me? Pick yourself, I will respond to both.
